Dutch news agency Energeia interviews waste-to-energy company AEB and clean-tech scale-up Sympower on how they collaboratively developed the platform HeatFlex.ai to accelerate the energy transition. In the interview, Rob van Ommen (AEB) and Dirk-Jan Middelkoop (Sympower) explain how algorithms are used to optimise over different energy streams: electricity, heat and steam. In this way, the demand and supply of energy are matched in time and the renewable energy production is optimised. The proof-of-concept will be tested at AEB in Amsterdam. Afterwards, it can be rolled-out to other European cities.
